Background: Hiei's original home was on koorime (a place with a race of ice maidens, only women, on a floating island). His father was a fire demon his mother was an ice demon. Hiei, because he was a fire demon, was thrown from the island and, somehow, managed to survive. His mother, shortly after, died of grief. Hiei was taken in by a band of theives and trained as one. He honed his skills and left the group. Later on he met with the famous theif Youko Kurama. After fighting they gained a respect for each other. Some time later, Hiei learned he had a sister.
